Citroën Aircross SUV named semi-finalist list for 2025 COTY
  • Following its launch into South Africa in July this year, the new Citroen Aircross SUV is gaining traction among consumers
  • The Stellantis-owned brand believes the new generation offers unrivalled value in the B-SUV segment

MIDRAND, December 13, 2024 – Introduced in July this year, the Aircross has received industry recognition from The South African Guild of Mobility Journalists indicating a strong return for the brand in South Africa.

“Stellantis has worked incredibly hard this year alongside its dealers to reaffirm the Citroen brand locally with the Aircross being part of an extended range,” says XXXX. “We are honoured and excited to be recognised by key players in the motoring sector of South Africa.”

The range includes the new and enhanced C3 hatch, launched in 2023 and the Aircross SUV, launched in July this year

Stellantis has focused on several key areas across the range to ensure relevancy, affordability and safety for the Citroen brand.

The C3 for example is now available with a turbocharged six-speed automatic transmission while from a safety perspective, the car is equipped with six airbags, three-point seatbelts, ISOFIX seat anchors, ABS and EBD. The C3 was also recently recognised as the Biggest Achiever of the Year in passenger car sales by naamsa’s Accelerator Awards and continues to enjoy positive market reception with one of the country’s fastest sales growth rates.

Meanwhile, the Aircross, continues to offer an incredible value proposition as a family SUV. The Aircross SUV is intelligently created with regional input to meet the specific needs of customers in South Africa.

Affordability has also been a strong focus for Stellantis. “With majority of cars in the B-SUV category being below four-hundred thousand rand, it was critical for us to ensure we maintained affordability without compromising on the quality of the vehicles,” says Charl Timms.

The Aircross SUV MAX 1.2 Turbo six speed automatic is priced at R354,900 while the seven-seater was priced at R364,900, still R105,00 leass than the outgoing model. Just this week, Citroen has introduced an even more pocket-friendly option, the new entry-level Aircross 1.2 Plus, priced at just R269,900 including a 4 year / 60,000km Service Plan. “Making it onto the semi-finalist list has been a breakthrough moment for Citroen and the Stellantis team in South Africa. The car launched in July has set the tone for what we believe is a brand that exemplifies extraordinary value,” says xxx.
